About SubCav
Built on a sideline, by people who needed it.
Coaching youth soccer should be about developing players and running a game, not managing a spreadsheet on the sideline. That is why we built SubCav.
We are volunteer coaches and software engineers. It started where most useful things start — with a problem we had ourselves. Keeping playing time fair across a full roster, while actually watching the match, is harder than it sounds. Doing it on a clipboard in the rain is harder still.
So we built the tool we wanted. SubCav works out the substitution plan before kickoff, keeps the clock, tracks every player’s minutes to the second, and hands parents a link so they can follow the game from wherever they are standing.
Along the way, coaches told us what else they needed. Some wanted the schedule and the season statistics in the same place. Some wanted photos from the games. Some wanted to hand the whole rotation back to themselves and place every player by hand. So SubCav grew to cover those too.
Why it is free
SubCav is free, and there is no plan to change that. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no locked features. It is built and paid for by Coding Cavalry, and we would rather it be useful to every volunteer coach who needs it than earn a few dollars from some of them.
Who we are
SubCav is made by Coding Cavalry, LLC, a veteran-owned software company. We also build TeamCav, a platform for running whole leagues and clubs. If you help organize more than just your own team, that one may interest you.
